Dear Mr Cevizoglu

On December 4th, 1998, upon my arrival at the airport in Yesilkoy, I have been stopped by the Turkish police authorities and they gave me a paper of the Turkish State, according to which, I am no more acceptable in Turkey. The reason: three times XXX. So I had to stay that whole night (13 hours) at the police station of the airport and on Saturday December 5th, 1998 I came back to Greece, by the first Olympic flight. This was the result and my price from the Turkish State, after 38 years of real struggle towards the main goal of creating real friendship among our people of Turkey and Greece. A friendship which has to be passed through knowledge of the past, which we do not like to be repeated again. All my local Turkish prizes and the Abdi Ipekci Odulu of 1993 have not been taken into consideration and have not been faced by any respect. After four years, a campaign has been started, by a Military Officer named Onurlubas in Giresun against greek visits at the Black Sea and I was again mentioned as the evil person, who organizes everything bad in that area.
On Saturday 12, 2002 I was happy to be informed that you were to organize a canli pogram called CEVIZ KABUGU, referring to my person, in regard to Greek-Turkish relations.
I participated into that program by phone and also expressed to you in written my thanks, because you gave me the opportunity at first to hear the accusations against me and learn what the three XXX mean and you gave me the chance to let my voice and arguments be heard by the Turkish audience.
After that program, many friends of mine called you and explained you that there is plenty of material for the contrary in my favor and they protested not be coming through on phone to your program. You promised their participation for the coming Saturday January 19, 2002 and I sent to you a video copy and seven pages report of a summary of my contribution, since 1960, for the understanding among our people. However in your program of January 19, 2002 you made no use of the material in my favor and in contrary you blockaded the phone
participation of all my friends in Turkey. Only pre-selected people came through. Anyway, I am sure that every good minded Turkish person understood your way of objectivity and your anti-journalistic methods. None of my friends came through that night on your phone. The lines were open only to pre-selected persons, whom I do not know and they also do not know me. What they said against me it is absolutely their own problem.
However, I have to report your kind of behavior as a journalist, to all European Press-Unions, so that they may know, who is Mr Hulki Cevizoglu, how he works and whom does he serve in Turkey. Personally, I promise to you, to publish very soon, a book in many languages, including Turkish. The title of that book will be, "CEVIZ ABUGU, Mr. Hulki Cevizoglu". The only thing that still keeps me busy is, whether this book should be a tragedy, or a comedy. This book will follow your next steps and your consciousness, all your future through.
